Hobby King Mini Skywalker Adjustable Motor Mount

This two piece motor mount is CNC machined from billet aluminum.  It is designed to adapt a large range of brushless outrunner motors to the Hobby King Mini Skywalker.   It will allow for three different motor mounting heights to accommodate propeller sizes ranging from 5" to 7".

With this feature you can easily run a lower KV motor with a larger propeller for more thrust and better efficiency.  This would be a perfect combination for FPV pilots looking for longer flight times and a more quiet platform on this mini model.   Or use a higher KV motor with a larger prop for those high speed runs!  

Swapping motors can easily be done by removing a few screws. This is ideal for those looking to achieve the best performance possible.

Position 1: stock height up to a 5" prop.
Position 2: (+) 0.45" for up to a 6" prop.
Position 3: (+) 0.9" for up to a 7" prop.

Installation:

1. Glue oval motor base plate onto the fuselage (nacelle) using a good 5min. epoxy or similar.
   • It is recommended to screw on the motor plate to the base plate at the stock height location before gluing.  This will ensure the base plate is oriented correctly.
   • Center hole on base plate is slightly off center to accommodate stock motor position.  Make sure this center hole is closer to the top of the nacelle.
      
2. Once glue has dried, remove motor plate and attach new motor to motor plate with supplied flat head screws. 
    
3. Attach motor plate to base plate at desired height with supplied pan head screws.
    

Included: 1 - Base Plate and Motor Plate, (4) M3x6 flat head screws, (2) M3x6 pan head screws, (4) M2x4 pan head screws.

Weight Motor Plate: 5.0g

Notes:

Adding a larger motor to this small model will cause the center of gravity to shift back.  Please check and adjust per user manual.

Adding any FPV or camera equipment to the nose, or moving battery and other electronics forward will help balance the model.

If a change in thrust angle is desired, simply add a small washer between the motor and motor plate at the appropriate locations.
